On 7:30pm Monday 12th August, NHW3 will have their Annual General Meeting at the Baptist Church Hall, Richmond Road, Morningside.

Come along and get an appreciation of our activities over the past year. All positions will become vacant, so it is your opportunity to come along and have your say, and perhaps nominate for one of the positions.

We will also update the group on crime activity in the area, as well as hearing the strategic direction of NHW Qld.

Our group needs new people with new ideas.

Morningside and Seven Hills residents urged to be vigilant

Police are investigating after a series of incidents in the Morningside and Seven Hills area where homes have been broken into as their residents were mowing or workng in the garden.
The most recent incident occurred yesterday afternoon in The Corso, Seven Hills. Investigations appear to indicate that an offender has climbed the side fence and kicked open a back door to gain entry of a house while the resident was mowing in the front yard.
A number of items have been stolen, including a handbag, a sum of cash, and a mobile phone.
Police are reminding all residents to be vigilant when they are out in the yard, particularly when using loud machinery. Keep an eye out for your neighbours, and if you see someone acting suspiciously, contact your local police immediately.

Cyber Crime Information Night

Last night in Morningside, and a rainy night it was, our NHW3 hosted some 35 people who attended our community Info Night on Cyber Crime and Safety. The content was excellent, with some thought provoking and compelling presentations from Suncorp, ThinkUKnow (with key partners Microsoft and AFP), and our local QPS and CPIU.


They provided a reality check on some of the dangers, particularly those facing our younger people, as they go about their lives in an increasingly complex on line world. The video case studies were compelling viewing.

The audience stayed over two hours and many of them will follow up with their schools. 






The ThinkUKnow presentation is particularly relevant to our schools and we will also follow up on this with our local schools and P&Cs.
